Who is Rachael the Small?
Hi! I’m Rachael Hammond, a storyteller, artist and performer based in London. I have 15 years experience delivering fun, inspiring, and playful creative workshops in art and drama, as well as storytelling and performing. I also have a strong background in inclusion, and have worked in SEN settings across all ages. I am also dyspraxic and ADHD.
My performance background stems from Applied Theatre and children’s theatre, and I have performed in a number of TIE (Theatre in Education) shows. This includes performing in schools around Derbyshire, East Kent, and Medway. I have also toured children’s theatre nationally, and worked with companies such as What’s In the Box Theatre Company to devise engaging and interactive theatre for children.
I work in community theatre as a freelancer, and deliver community projects and youth theatres for spaces such as Half Moon Theatre, and Polka Theatre, as well as with Inspiration Creative in Kent.
I also work in events! I deliver interactive stories, craft workshops, drama workshops and more for birthday parties, corporate events, shopping centre events, and more.
Alongside this, I am an artist who works in paint, mixed media, and digital drawing. I sell my works, but I also teach it in workshops, which I have done in regular after school clubs, community events, care homes, private bookings, and corporate events.
In my spare time I love crafting, music, and the cinema (HUGE film fan!)
So, if you’re after a creative, quirky practitioner who is passionate and playful - consider booking me for your next party, event, or school’s workshop!
Why Rachael the Small?
The name comes from when I used to build tiny worlds inside of suitcases, dollhouses, and more. I am also 5ft tall exactly, so it has a double meaning!
